The standalone single, while it was being worked on in separate multiple studios during the COVID-19 pandemic across the United States and parts of Canada as well, with various studio musicians working on the tracks, eventually morphed into an new idea spawned by October Evans herself and the executive producer of this single, Taylor Bull, whereas together they came up with the official acoustic version of "Sleeping Awake" as a simple idea to give fans more content to enjoy while in the process of working on releasing this standalone single as a official "Single Promo Mini-EP" sort of album, but only releasing 2 b-side versions of this single, the acoustic official version and the official original studio version with the full band backing up this amazing singer-songwriter with powerful, brutally honest and soul-baring lyrics written to record October's struggles and journey in finding peace, sobriety and an epiphany to finally be "okay" in her healing from C-PTSD, her daily battles with social anxiety and depression, and her years-long war with Gender Dysphoria.
